In addition, he has hosted some of the largest competitions in the country, including the NCAA DII Swimming & Diving National Championship, USA-Swimming Speedo Sectional Championship, Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Conference Championship, and several large regional invitationals (with over 1,400 participants in each).

At SPIRE Institute, a United States Olympic Training Site, Jim worked with Olympians, World Championship participants, U.S. Olympic Team Trials qualifiers, World Championship Team Trials qualifiers, and a Central American Games double gold medalist and event record holder. Many of his athletes went on to compete at the NCAA Division I level, and include numerous USA Swimming Junior and Senior National qualifiers, All-Americans, US Open finalists and Open Water National Championship finalists.  In 2013 Jim established one of only three Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) Official Training Sites in the world, training athletes from across the globe in preparation for the World Championships and Olympics.  In addition, his teams have received numerous USA-Swimming honors, ranking among the top teams in the country, and he has been a member of the USA-Swimming coaching staff for the National Select Camp at the USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
